General Information

The Cairns Airport is the major airport for flights to the RACP Congress 2015. Daily flights into Cairns are available from most major airlines. For more information, please visit the website.

Cairns is renowned for its tropical climate with hot Summers and milder Winter seasons. May is a fantastic time to travel to the Cairns region, with temperatures ranging from a beautiful 18°C to 26°C.

Please ensure you are appropriately covered for travel insurance before travelling to Cairns. Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind and neither MCI nor the Royal Australasian College of Physicians will accept liability. It is recommended that you take out a suitable travel insurance policy at the time you register and book flights. We recommend you purchase travel insurance that covers non-refundable congress fees.

If you are travelling from outside Australia to attend the RACP Congress, please check online to confirm whether or not you require a visa for entry into Australia. Please ensure you have six months validity on your passport from your departure date. If your passport is not fully valid, your chosen airline may not allow you to board.

Once you have registered and paid for your registration via the online portal, you will receive a confirmation email outlining your selections for the Congress. This confirmation email will satisfy visa application requirements and no further documentation is necessary from the Congress Managers. For more information on applying for your Australian visa, please visit the Australian Government website.

It takes approximately 10-15 minutes by car to travel from the Cairns Airport to the Cairns Convention Centre. It is easy to arrange a taxi transfer once you arrive in Cairns, or alternatively, there is a bus system from the Cairns Airport that services the city area. Further information on this bus service can be found here.
